Ms. Plentz started her career in the news business as a tech reporter at Bloomberg TV, in New York City.  Shortly after she joined the UN, where she produced the daily news bulletins, weekly features, podcasts and wrote and edited content for the UN Radio website, Portuguese Language section.

As an international affairs news producer and editor she also presented the UN official daily news bulletins and weekly features, audience reach of 30 million+ a week through partner stations, including BBC World and Radio France International, covering all the international conferences hosted by the UN, Security Council meetings, and the General Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in NYC.

From 2000 to 2011 she was a regular contributor to Radio France International and BBC World News, sending daily special programs from the UN Headquarters in New York and Geneva. She covered the UN and its agencies, the WTO, WIPO, and the Security Council.  She wrote stories and features on all UN system specialized agencies including the ILO, WHO, WFP, UNICEF, UNDP, FAO, UNESCO, WTO, and WIPO.

Ms. Plentz managed international teams of news producers, engineers, UX/UI designers, and software developers to deliver broadcast news content and the daily website updates of news organizations, including Bloomberg TV and at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, and at UN’s regional offices in Geneva and The Hague.

She is a speaker and moderator at tech conferences on new technologies for marketing communications, Bluetooth, and women in tech. In 2016 Ms. Plentz Fagundes was appointed by the European Commission to the High Level Group of Experts to review the impact of Horizon 2020, the $100B  Framework Programme to fund Research and Innovation in the EU, and make recommendations for the upcoming funding cycle Horizon Europe.

After a career in the performing arts, she graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Political Science, with a focus on digital media and  international relations. Most of her coursework was taken at the  School of International and Public Affairs, and at Columbia Business School, where she studied management and trade for development.

Ms. Plentz consults as a press relations and strategic communications advisor for SaaS, higher education, and consumer tech companies. She also developed international media relations campaigns for QS University Rankings in London, and the enterprise software alliance in the South of Brazil, Softsul.  She led strategic communications in Latin America for the first e-Government tech company that raised $60 million in the US, from venture capital firms KKR and other Silicon Valley investors.   Ms. Plentz also advises tech startups and is a mentor and member of the selection committee at the tech accelerator and investment fund MassChallenge, for their programs in the US, Spain, Switzerland, UK, and Mexico.
